21歲的高雄人陳彥蓉表示，有些大學同學會在限時動態說，不喜歡有人一直強調這段歷史，認為這「有傷和氣」，就算是政治立場鮮明、關心這段歷史的朋友，為了避免爭吵，也只會在網路上發文，不會在同儕間表達意見。
中國外交部發言人林劍在2月6日的記者發布會上更是直接提出：「很高興看到越來越多的外國朋友有意願、有機會感受中國的發展變化，體驗中國百姓的煙火日常」。
